The fellowship of the ring

I just finished watching the first movie in the lord of the ring series and it was 3 hours of pure awesomeness. I loved it so so much.
I did try to read the first book or the first part of the lord of the rings last year but failed because I felt like it wasn't going anywhere and that it was moving to slowly. But now, with newly found enthusiasm I am going to read it and this time I WILL succeed. I feel like there is just too much that I will miss out on if I don't read this series.
The characters were all so wonderful, but I feel like I hardly know them at all. I am very excited to start this series.
There was one part that I really liked. It was when Frodo tells Gandalf that he wishes that the ring had never come to him and that none of this had ever happened.
Gandalf replies by saying " so do all who live to see such times , but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you. "

That is so true. Things will happen to us and we may not like it but all we can do is decide on how to spend the time that we have.

Is it better to burn out than fade away?

"It's better to burn out than fade away."
Kurt Cobain said that.
Many people look up to him and that quote.
Here's what I think-
What a jackass.
He justified committing suicide by saying that and I think that that is unbelievably selfish.
So many people loved him and he let them down.
He had a child who is now fatherless.
Why?
Because he was bored and not having enough fun?
He gave up. He was a quitter.
He also probably missed out on some really good stuff.
Don't add him to your list of inspirational people.
There are people in this world who have it hard and who fight hard every day to make ends meet and to stay alive when instead they can kill themselves.
I know one thing.
I'm never going to give up.
It's not something I do and hopefully that stays the same.

Dear Zachary

I just watched this film/documentary and it has scarred me for life.
Maybe I would have been better off not watching it. Maybe not.
In my opinion it one of the most well made documentaries ever.
I still can not believe that what I watched was a true story.
A number of crazy emotions are running through my brain right now.
wow. just wow.

warning- the emotional impact of this film is very very heavy.
